This episode of Brick Podcast features Saidiya Hartman’s Toronto book launch for Wayward Lives, Beautiful Experiments, Hartman’s latest book, examining the revolution of Black intimate life that unfolded in Philadelphia and New York at the beginning of the twentieth century. Following a reading, Saidiya Hartman is joined by Christina Sharpe, Dionne Brand, and Canisia Lubrin for a conversation. The event was organized by Another Story Bookshop and was made possible thanks to the Women & Gender Studies Institute at the University of Toronto, the Department of Humanities at York University, and the faculty of community services at Ryerson University.
