The Brick Analgesic Society held its inaugural fundraising ball on a blustery night in
December, where flappers and bohemians and artists and gypsies came together to steam
up the stained glass of the Berkeley Church with their dancing and carrying on. Hosted
by Jian Ghomeshi, with musical performances by Jill Barber, The Hot Five Jazzmakers,
and Xin Wang & Neema Bickersteth of Volcano Theatre, Kiki’s Paris was one of those
indescribable, incendiary nights, and it couldn’t have happened without our wonderful
friends, old and new. Kiki de Montparnasse would have been proud. We certainly are.
